A Typical Day

A typical day will see a Year 7 student complete the following activities:

Lessons One and Two - PE - Tennis
Learn to work with a partner / Gain basic racket skills / Demonstrate ball control and participate in a simple rally / Manage a rally over the net with a partner / Work with a partner to self assess progress made in the lesson

Lessons Three and Four - Opening Minds - Urban Planning - Geography
Learn that shopping areas have hierarchies of size and that clusters of shops have clear patterns across cities / Learn to map data and analyse the information / develop writing for information skills and presentational skills using ICT.

Work through a range of activities based on a walk around Cheylesmore to collect photos and data on different shops and their location / work in a team to make a report in PowerPoint.

Lessons Five and Six - Creative Block
Go to Art. Continue on an individual project working in 3D to represent myself. Work on an Apple computer to build up images and ideas. Start to create some clay moulds for casting next lesson.

Go to ICT and learn how to model data. Create a spreadsheet to analyse income and expenditure for a small business, to predict future profits. Assess my work and check that I am on track to receive a Level 5, in line with my target grade.

Hometime  Go home straight away but log onto Studywiz and access school work to complete a section of the PowerPoint presentation on Shopping Hierarchies. Work for an hour to complete the task.
