RSA (Royal Society for the Arts)

Whitley Abbey has introduced an 'Opening Minds' curriculum at Key Stage 3, which is based on the RSA C21st curriculum framework. The school has worked with the RSA over the last few years to develop practice and introduce new ways of learning. The RSA will help develop expertise and high profile the school's contribution to this new innovative curriculum model at Key Stage 3.

The Headteacher is a fellow of the RSA and has contacts with colleagues who can help bring experience and evaluative skills to the team at Whitley.

The RSA Educational philosophy outlined in the Opening Minds curriculum supports the schools commitment to the development of competences and skills in students as a high priority alongside academic achievement through qualifications.
