 Home School Agreement

At Whitley Abbey we value the active support of parents. There are two Home School Agreements that we ask you to sign as your child starts their school career with us.

These agreements form the basis of our working relationship with parents and their children. They are a way of ensuring that we both understand the expectations that we need to have of each other.

The two agreements are:

The Home/School Agreement – this document outlines the main ways in which the school will support the individual student and the ways in which each family can work with us to assist in this process. It outlines what you can expect from us.

The Network User Agreement – this informs you about the ways in which students can use Information and Communication Technology to improve their learning. It sets out the responsibilities that staff, students and their families have in relation to responsible use of ICT equipment and in particular, use of the Internet.

The Whitley Abbey Effect

Working to ensure that every student is the best that they can be:

We want Parents to:
•  Agree with our aim that
   every student needs to be
the best that they can be.
•  Ensure that students
   attend school daily.
•  Check that students are
   wearing School Uniform
   every day. Looking smart
   for school is about having
   high expectations and self
   respect.
•  Have a routine at home
   that ensures homework is
   completed at a set time.

What we need students
to do:

•  Have high expectations
and agree to be the best
   that they can be.
•  Come to school ready to
   learn - have the right
   attitude, have the right
   equipment, in uniform.
•  Be prepared to work in
   their own time to develop
   their skills.

In order to be successful students need to demonstrate the right behaviour for learning. We want to work with you to make sure this happens.”
