Business and Enterprise School

Our drive to be a Business and Enterprise Specialist School stems from the importance of enterprise in enabling students to be successful learners.

Business and Enterprise SchoolThe Business and Enterprise specialism complements the schools curricumum vision" OFSTED April 2008.

We provide a distinctive experience for students and clients as we prepare them for the world of work. Our curriculum has key business skills, knowledge and understanding built into all that we do.

In our students’ first three years, business knowledge, skills and understanding are delivered through enrichment activity and enterprise study units within Opening Minds and Creative subject lessons.

From Year 10 all students are expected to take a formal Business or Business related vocational course to GCSE standard. Many will then continue onto A Level study.

All 14 – 19 year old students also engage in enterprise and work related learning programmes as part of their entitlement experience. We provide Horizon Events / Accelerated Learning packages and Breakout activities within the curriculum as well as formal work experience programmes.

We also use Business, ICT and Maths programmes to motivate, engage and raise the capacity of local people to make a difference in their own communities. Business, Maths and ICT resources are used to enable employers / employees and organisations, families and groups to learn together on their own terms.
